The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) reports fraudulent exemption cards are being distributed to the public that assert the holder of the card is exempt from wearing a facemask despite public health orders requiring it. These cards falsely purport to be issued by NMDOH and the U.S. Department of Justice. Anyone fraudulently creating and/or using these cards could result in being charged with a 4th degree felony. read more here.

The Town of Silver City and Grant County have joined together to establish a PPE bank for local small businesses. If your business needs extra face masks, call the Silver City/Grant County Chamber of Commerce to arrange a time for purchase and pick up.
The cost is $18.50 per box of 50 and there is a limit of 2 boxes per business.

The CDC and the New Mexico Department of Health recommend wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Cloth face coverings should not be used as a substitute for social distancing, but rather can be used as a supplement.
